I have not a specific technique to work, what matters is to reach the colours and the tonalities that I need, to test and to experiment.

I put the colour on but I also remove it, I shade and I sand it.

Often my works take long execution time, especially the Emoticons, due to the fact that they need several stages and the cooperation of different companies where the sanding, the electroless nickel and the 24-carat gold plating are only some of them.

The drying process of oil painting over this surface takes several months.

Happy or sad smiley faces, winks, clapping hands, heart-shaped eyes or with tears…

By now the Emoticons are part of our daily life and permit us to express our mood, to tell a story through the use of these symbols. Nowadays they are the hieroglyphs of our time, they have become a universal speech capable of breaking down the language barriers.
